From the writer’s desk—Telling the story of value-driven family entrepreneurship in the rollforming industry

Over the last few months, we have been working with the Repovs family and their team through the manuscript review process for the book we are currently designing for their company’s 50th anniversary later this year. People. Products. Passion captures the entrepreneurial journey of the Repovs family and tells the story of their company, Toronto-based Samco Machinery, in the broader context of the rollforming industry in North America. Going back to founder Joe Repovs’ upbringing in Europe and the founding of Samco in 1972, the contextually rich narrative draws on interviews with stakeholders from a wide range of perspectives—including members of the Repovs family, long-term employees past and present, customers, as well as business and community partners.

The Samco story is a story of how a small manufacturing company founded by a driven immigrant entrepreneur has evolved into an industry leader and global innovator in rollforming and value-added solutions over the course of five decades. It is a story of perseverance, continuous innovation, and of building long-term relationships with business partners, customers, and employees.
